O PROJETO VOLANTE convida artistas visuais de todo o Brasil a participarem de sua 3ª edição, produzindo séries de volantes impressos em processos manuais, destinados à distribuição pública e exposição a ser realizada de 18 de maio a 10 de junho de 2012 no Atelier Presse Papier em Trois-Rivières, Canadá. A exposição reunirá todos os volantes recebidos nesta convocatória, somados aos que participaram das outras edições do projeto e aqueles produzidos pelos artistas canadenses. As ações artísticas de distribuição dos volantes acontecerão nas cidades de Trois-Rivières e Quebec, registradas em video que integrará a exposição e será postado no blog projetovolante.blogspot.com.
O Projeto Volante articula a produção e circulação de obras gráficas contemporâneas se utilizando de diversas mídias. Através de convocatórias abertas, o projeto propõe a produção de trabalhos por artistas que se utilizam de processos manuais de reprodução de imagens para posteriormente inseri-las no cotidiano das cidades, em ações artísticas que promovem a distribuição das estampas produzidas em espaços públicos urbanos.
Aliada à revalorização da obra impressa enquanto linguagem plástica singular e sua validade enquanto instrumento de manifestação nas artes visuais, o Projeto Volante promove uma revisão dos formatos e espaços de apresentação da gravura e aponta para a possibilidade de que a obra gráfica dialogue com manifestações artísticas de outros segmentos, como o video, a fotografia, a performance, a arte de ação e a arte na internet.
Ao distribuir gravuras em espaços públicos, em ações artísticas, o projeto cria questionamentos tanto nas pessoas que recebem em mãos, generosamente, um trabalho de arte, como no próprio meio artístico, assumindo a proposta de uma discussão acerca dos valores associados à acessibilidade aos objetos de arte, e rememorando assim as culturas de trocas praticadas pelos homens, desvinculadas dos valores mercadológicos.
O projeto reconfigura a utilidade do volante, atualmente reduzida à propaganda comercial, revendo seu potencial de propagação de pensamentos, propondo que seja inserido no campo artístico, como instrumento poético. Neste contexto, as imagens contidas nestes impressos devem ser potencialmente instigadoras, capazes de causar pequenas revelações. Imagens-mensagem.
O blog cumpre o papel de publicação virtual, com o propósito de tornar público o conjunto de imagens dos trabalhos impressos, além de textos, fotografias, videos e links para sites dos artistas envolvidos e pesquisadores com trabalhos publicados sobre o assunto, funcionando como um núcleo expansivo, potencializando o fator múltiplo deste trabalho e ampliando através de uma conjugação dos meios material e virtual a capacidade de circulação da obra.
Contrapartidas
Todos os artistas participantes terão seus nomes, uma pequena biografia e uma imagem de seu trabalho divulgados no blog projetovolante.blogspot.com. Terão também seus nomes divulgados em exposição no Atelier Presse Papier e em cerca de 15 conjuntos de VOLANTES destinados a acervos de ateliês e bibliotecas.
Todos os VOLANTES recebidos integrarão a exposição no atelier Presse Papier e os conjuntos destinados para acervos, além de terem suas imagens publicadas no blog do projeto. Os demais VOLANTES serão distribuídos ao público durante ações artísticas a serem realizadas pelos artistas proponentes, registradas em fotografia e video. Em hipótese alguma os VOLANTES dos artistas participantes serão comercializados.
Regras para participação
A participação é aberta a artistas visuais de todas as regiões do Brasil.
Serão aceitos VOLANTES impressos pelos seguintes processos manuais de reprodução de imagens: xilogravura, linoleogravura, litografia, gravura em metal, tipografia, carimbo, serigrafia e stencil.
Formato exato: 16 x 16 cm.
A tiragem mínima enviada de cada VOLANTE é de 50 cópias.
Cada participante pode enviar quantas imagens quiser, sendo que cada imagem deve ter no mínimo 50 cópias.
Pode ser utilizado qualquer papel, em qualquer cor, com gramatura igual ou acima de 80g para evitar danos nas imagens, pois todos os VOLANTES serão identificados no verso com carimbo do projeto e endereço do blog.
Os VOLANTES não devem ser assinados.
Juntamente com o material enviado, acrescentar ficha de participação disponível no blog, preenchida em letra legível.

O e-mail será respondido quando confirmado o recebimento dos VOLANTES. A biografia e a imagem serão publicadas no blog sob a aba 'artistas participantes'.
Ao enviar os VOLANTES, o artista participante autoriza o uso de imagem no blog do projeto, em exposições promovidas pelo projeto, nos conjuntos doados a acervos de ateliês e bibliotecas, assim como em materiais de divulgação dos eventos relacionados ao mesmo.
Os trabalhos recebidos que não estiverem de acordo com as regras de participação serão descartados.

Open call to artists
PROJETO VOLANTE invites visual artists from all over the world to take part in its third edition, collaborating with handmade prints that will be distributed in public spaces and exhibited in a collective show from May 18th to June 10th 2012 at Atelier Presse Papier, Trois-Rivières, Canada. The exhibition will put together all the prints received through this invitation, as well as prints collected for the project's previous editions (2009 /2010). The artistic actions in which the prints will be handed out are going to take place in the cities of Trois-Rivières and Quebec. These actions will be registered on a video that will also be shown in the exhibition and published in the project's blog, www.projetovolante.blogspot.com.
PROJETO VOLANTE articulates the production and circulation of contemporary art prints through a variety of media. Through open invitations, the project proposes the manufacture of prints by artists who work with manual image reproduction procedures, to later insert those images in the daily life of cities, through artistic actions that promote the distribution of prints in urban public spots.
Promoting print in its singularity as language, and validating it as an instrument of expression within the visual arts, PROJETO VOLANTE intends to provoke a discussion about traditional formats and spaces intended for printshowing, suggesting that graphic works could dialogue with other kinds of artistic manifestations, such as video, photography, performance, urban action art and internet art.
By delivering original prints in public spaces, the project intends to pose questions both to people who generously receive art prints by hand in the streets and to the art world, embodying a discussion about the values underlying access to artworks and recalling exchange practices unrelated to market moves.
PROJETO VOLANTE reconfigures the role of the handout print, reduced today to commercial purposes, boosting its potential to propagate ideas by reinserting it in the artistic field as a poetic instrument. Therefore, the images printed on the handouts can be potentially instigating, since they carry the power to cause small revelations. Message-images.
The blog works as a digital publication, showing the complete collection of prints, as well as texts, pictures, videos and links to artists and researchers sites, enhancing the project's multiple nature and expanding the circulation of images through the combination of material and virtual media.
Counterparts
All the participating artists will have their names, a short biography and an image of his/her work published in the blog www.projetovolante.blogspot.com. All participants will be acknowledged for their work in the text of the exhibition at Atelier Presse Papier, and have their names published in approximately 15 groups of images that will be saved and destined to ateliers and libraries collections.
All the works received by PROJETO VOLANTE will be shown in the exhibition at Atelier Presse Papier and included in the groups of prints destined to ateliers and libraries collections. The remaining prints will be distributed at public spaces in artistic actions conducted by the project members, which will be registered in photos and videos. By no means the prints will be commercialized.
Rules
Participation is open to all visual artists.
The prints should be handmade, using one ore more of the following techniques: wood cut print, linoleum print, litography, metal engraving, typography, rubber stamp, silk screen print and stencil.
The exact format of the paper should be 16 x 16 cm (6.3 x 6.3 inches).
The minimum quantity accepted for each image is 50 copies.
Each participant can send as many images as wanted; each of them in at least 50 copies.
Any kind of paper can be used, in any color. The paper weight should be equal or superior to 80g/m2 to avoid damaging the images, since the back of the handouts will be stamped with the project's logo and blog address.
The images should not be signed by the artists.
Together with the prints, artists should send the participation form available in the blog under the tab 'ficha de participação'. Please ensure the form is fully filled in and legible.
The prints can be mailed until April 10 st, 2012 to the following address:

The mailing costs are not refundable and should be taken up by the participants.
A confirmation message should be sent to projetovolante@gmail.com when the prints are mailed, under the subject 'CONFIRMATION'. Please attach a short biography (up to 5 lines), an image of your work (not necessarily the one made for the project) and links if desired. The email will be answered when the prints arrive to the address above. The bio and image will be published in the blog under the tab 'artistas participantes'.
By sending the prints, the artist authorizes the use of its image in the project's blog, in exhibitions put together by PROJETO VOLANTE, in the groups of prints that will be forwarded to ateliers and libraries collections, as well as in any printed and digital material related to the above mentioned events.
The works received that are not in accordance with the rules of participation will be discarded.

Appel
Le projet VOLANTE fait appel aux artistes visuels afin de participer à sa deuxième édition en produisant des séries de VOLANTES imprimées à travers un processus manuel. Les volantes seront destinés à la distribution publique et à une exposition qui aura lieu entre le 18 mai et le 10 juin de 2012 à l’Atelier Presse Papier à Trois-Rivières, Québec. Tous les volantes reçus à partir de cet appel seront exposés , ainsi que les volantes qui ont participé à d’autres éditions du projet, réalisés au Brésil. Les actions artistiques de distribution des volantes auront lieu à Trois-Rivières et dans la ville de Québec et seront enregistrées sur vidéo. La vidéo fera partie de l’exposition et sera postée dans le blogue du projet : www.projetovolante.blogspot.com.
Le projet Volante articule la production et la circulation des oeuvres graphiques contemporaines, en utilisant divers types de médias. À travers les appels disséminés sur internet, le projet propose la production de travail pour des artistes qui utilisent des processus manuels de reproduction des images. Les images produites seront insérées dans le quotidien des villes à travers des actions artistiques que promouvra la distribution des estampes dans des espaces publics urbains.
Alliée à la revalorisation de l’oeuvre imprimée en tant que langage plastique singulier et sa validité comme un instrument de manifestation dans les arts visuels, le projet Volante promeut une révision des formats et des espaces de présentation de la gravure et propose la possibilité du dialogue avec des manifestations artistiques d’autres segments comme la vidéo, la photographie, la performance, l’art d’action et l’art sur l’internet.
En distribuant des gravures dans des espaces publics et en actions artistiques, le projet encourage des questionnements dans le milieu des arts et à des personnes qui reçoivent un travail d’art avec générosité. Le projet propose aussi une discussion à propos des valeurs associées à l’accessibilité aux objets d’art et évoque les cultures d’échange où les valeurs ne sont pas liées au marketing.
Le projet reconfigure l’utilité du volante actuellement réduite à la publicité, en discutant son potentiel de propagation de la pensée et en proposant son insertion dans le monde des arts, comme un instrument poétique. Dans ce contexte, les images imprimées doivent stimuler des petites révélations, avec une poétique et une conceptualisation pertinente, comme images-messages.
Le blogue présentera la publication virtuelle des images des travaux imprimés, des textes, des photographies, des vidéos et des liens pour les sites des artistes participants et des chercheurs qui ont publié des travaux qui ont un lien avec les sujets abordés pour le projet. Comme cela, la multiplicité du projet est potentialisée à travers la conjugaison des médias matériels et virtuels et la circulation de l’oeuvre est amplifiée.
Contrepartie
Tous les artistes participants auront son nom, une petite biographie et une image de son travail diffusés dans le blogue : www.projetovolante.blogspot.com. Les noms des artistes seront aussi divulgués dans les expositions du projet et dans les ensembles/publications destinés à des collections des ateliers et des bibliothèques (environ 15 ensembles).
Tous les volantes reçus seront postés dans le blogue et iront intégrer l’exposition à l’Atelier Presse Papier et les ensembles seront destinés à des collections. La majorité des volantes reçus sera distribuée au public durant les actions artistiques réalisées pour les artistes concepteurs du projet. Les actions seront enregistrées en vidéo et en photographie et les résultats seront postés dans le blogue du projet. Les volantes ne seront pas commercialisées.
Règlements
La participation est ouverte pour les artistes visuels de toutes les régions du Brésil et du Québec.
Seront acceptés les volantes imprimés dans des processus de reproductions manuelles suivants : xylographie, linoléum, lithographie, gravure sur métal, typographie, étampe, sérigraphie et stencil.
Format exact : 16x16cm.
Tirage minimum de 50 copies pour chaque image.
Chaque participant peut envoyer plusieurs images et chaque image doit avoir le minimum de 50 copies.
L’image peut être imprimée dans le papier de préférence du participant et le choix des couleurs est libre. La densité du papier doit être supérieure à 80 g pour éviter des accidents dans des images au cours du transport et pendant son identification. Tous les volantes seront identifiés sur le dos avec le étampe du projet et l’adresse du blogue.
Ne pas signer les volantes.
Annexer au matériel envoyé la fiche de participation disponible dans le blogue. La fiche doit être remplie en écriture lisible.
